Finite Size Corrections in Massive Thirring Model
We calculate for the first time the finite size corrections in the massive Thirring model. This is done by numerically solving the equations of periodic boundary conditions of the Bethe ansatz solution. It is found that the corresponding central charge extracted from the 1/L term is around 0.4 for the coupling constant of g0 = − π 4 and decreases down to zero when g0 = − π 3 . This is quite dif...
متن کاملDynamical Symmetry Breaking in a Gauge Theory “ Thirring Model ” ∗
Dynamical fermion mass generation is studied in the three-dimensional Thirring model reformulated as a gauge theory by introducing hidden local symmetry. The analysis by use of Schwinger-Dyson equation is shown to exhibit a critical behavior as the number N of four-component fermions approaches Ncr = 128/3π 2. When we consider the models of massless self-interacting fermions, a central issue is...
متن کاملChiral symmetry restoration in the massive Thirring model at finite T and μ : Dimensional reduction and the Coulomb gas
Chiral symmetry restoration in the massive Thirring model at finite T and µ: Dimensional reduction and the Coulomb gas Abstract We show that in certain limits the (1+1)-dimensional massive Thirring model at finite temperature T is equivalent to a one-dimensional Coulomb gas of charged particles at the same T. This equivalence is then used to explore the phase structure of the massive Thirring m...
متن کاملThe Gauged Thirring Model
We propose the gauged Thirring model as a natural gauge-invariant generalization of the Thirring model, four-fermion interaction of current-current type. In the strong gauge-coupling limit, the gauged Thirring model reduces to the recently proposed reformulation of the Thirring model as a gauge theory. Especially, we pay attention to the effect coming from the kinetic term for the gauge boson f...
متن کاملChiral Symmetry Breaking in the 3-d Thirring Model for Small N F
The Thirring model is a three dimensional QFT with Nf fermion species and a current–current four fermion interaction. As such, it is obviously non–renormalisable in the usual perturbative expansion. It has been pointed out several years ago [1] that a continuum limit can be defined for some theories in a non–perturbative (NP) approach. For the Gross–Neveu model, a four–fermi theory with a (pseu...
